Retro Sport opened its doors in 1990 as a Porsche service workshop and race-support provider. Today we keep some of the most recognizable cars in Porsche’s race history in top track-ready condition. Our cars have won at Daytona, Laguna Seca, Road America, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Sebring, Sears Point, and Spa-Francorchamps.
The founder, Ben Kirchner, trained at Porsche Motorsport North America, and worked his way up through the international motorsports ranks to earn a reputation as one of the best Porsche race mechanics and engine builders working today. Ben has worked on Le Mans winning cars including Porsche, Audi, and Bentley for over 30 years, and he continues to be a driving force in the vintage Porsche world today.
Racing is at the heart of Retro Sport and we currently provide dedicated vintage race prep and arrive-and-drive experiences for clients racing on tracks in the U.S. and Europe.
In recent years we have expanded our business to include vintage parts sales and have become the premier destination for quality Albins® gears and transmission components for Porsche.
With a recent expansion we began offering car storage services which will allow us to grow into a home base for Porsche racing enthusiasts in the San Francisco Bay.
Retro Sport is the exclusive distributor of Albins® Porsche gears in North and South America, providing race shops and Porsche enthusiasts access to the largest inventory of Porsche gears in the United States. We provide many hard to get ratios including many race ratios for nearly all Porsche gearboxes.
