PORSCHE 924GTS

General history:

1980 Porsche introduced the 924GT at the Frankfurt Motorshow IAA.

The idea was to provide a street legal sportscar with motorsport attributes like lower weight and more power in the tradition of cars like the Carrera RS.

400 units were made due to the FIA regulations for Groupe 4 GT cars.

In 1981 an evolution series of the 924GT was developed - the GTS – which aimed at the more ambitious driver who wanted a race/rally car based on a production model. The GTS was lighter, all comfort items removed, race seats from the 935 were installed and the engine power increased from 210 to 245HP.

59 GTS cars were made.
