Get to know the ring and pinion ratios that we have in stock for the 901 transmission. Read on to find out how these rare ratios may enhance the driving experience of your Porsche on the track and on the street.
The 8:35 ratio is perfect if you're looking to strengthen your 901 gearbox for higher horsepower engines, while maintaining a similar ratio (~1.2% taller) as the stock 7:31 ring and pinion.
Extend MPH, while lowering RPM at highway speeds with the 9:31 ratio. This tall ratio is perfect for lengthening gearboxes. Mostly for a street-car application, or V8 swapped vehicles.

The 6:29 ratio was created with 356s with 5-speed 901 conversion in mind. Create a gearbox that's ~8.5% shorter than a car equipped with a 7:31 ring and pinion. Works well with 356 engines which have a lower red line and lower torque than a 911 engine.
Looking to lengthen your gearbox ratio overall? The 8:31 ratio is suitable for street applications and will give you the same final drive ratio as the late 915 gearbox, so if you have a 3.0L engine in your early car, this is a great choice.
Finally, the trusty factory ratio replacement ring and pinion. Porsche made it right the first time, and if you're looking to replace a worn-out or pitted ring and pinion for a fresh set, this is the easiest way to continue enjoying your car.
